Admission Policies

English Student Assessment

It is preferred that an applicant have a minimum functional communicative ability in English. For example you should have a basic command of printed script, basic reading, and basic verbal expression.

Usually due to a natural insecurity with their ability, some students indicate that they have no English ability. In such an instance the Academic Director will make an assessment of that students ability based upon the application forms they submit and other communications with them. In the great majority of instances it is found that such students have enough English ability to begin our courses.

Student Placement

Upon your arrival at CVIC the Academic Director will interview, test, and then place you in a class appropriate to your demonstrated English level.

You will be tested and evaluated often enough so that, as soon as you are ready, you will be elevated to the next Instructional Level.
